What’s causing molds to grow in your home?

First of all, what are molds? A mold is a fungus that develops in the form of multi-cellular filaments which is called a hyphae. It is a material or object that we never want to bear in our homes. A mold has a ton of disadvantages like damage the appearance of our home as it can grow anywhere, and could breed rapidly.

This doesn’t only damage your home’s appearance, it also damages your health, even your pet’s health, if you have any. When you inhale or have physical contact with molds, it can trigger allergens and irritants.

Some type of mold can really be fatal to you and mostly to your pets. If you frequently get in contact with this it can deliver fatal diseases to your body making you sick. Diseases from a mold that you can have are fatal respiratory illnesses, sinus infections, and other chronic illnesses.

So, it is better for you to prevent molds from growing in your house. We provide you below the causes of mold growth in your home.

Inadequate ventilation

Molds grow where it’s dark and humid most likely, your bathroom. Make sure, you have proper, and the right amount of ventilation needed for your home. Place exhaust fans, and windows in rooms that get humid frequently.

Leaking pipes

Our pipe or drainage systems come to have problems from time to time, having these problems are almost inescapable, that’s why make sure to always check if your pipes are fixed and doing well. Leaking pipes cause mold growth since it constantly administers running water, and molds need water to grow and breed.

Wet spots

Wet spots are an easy target for molds to grow in since they need water to grow. Avoid having constant wet spots in your home, especially the ones hard to detect like behind cabinets, behind walls and etc. make sure to always check each and every corner of your home if there is a wet spot. Just simply wipe off the wet part and do some repairs if needed.

Leaking Roof

Make sure to check your roofs or ceilings from time to time, and see if they have cracks, holes, or any damage that could cause water or any liquid to pass thru. Just like leaky pipes, a leaking roof causes mold growth because it allows water to constantly flow, which gives molds the opportunity to grow and breed. Not only that, when you have a leaky roof and mold starts to grow, the mold together with the water destroys your ceiling, especially if your ceiling is made of wood.
